Homemade Hummus

 

Ever notice all store bought hummus is made from vegetable oil/sunflower oil?! These processed oils are loaded with omega 6 fats, and a higher omega 6 intakes in relation to our omega 3 intake has been shown to wreak havoc with our health.

This homemade hummus takes 4 MINUTES!!!! to make in the Nutri-bullet.. And is made with olive oil instead!

If you like beets, it's a yummy additio and gives it a great colour. Adding the beets is optional!'

Ingredients

240g rinsed tinned chickpeas
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp tahini paste
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp paprika
A good pinch of salt 

1-3 tbsp water 
150g beetroot (optional)

Method

Blend all ingredients in a nutribullet or food processor. 

 

Start with 1 tbsp of water. Once blended, observe the consistency. Add more water if necessary and blend to reach desired consistency.
